That afternoon, I was rather proud of myself.

It didn’t take Ember and I long to get back to the bungalow, especially with us practically sprinting back to the house. At one point, I grabbed Ember and carried her like a blushing bride and raced toward the house, mostly while she laughed.

Needless to say, as soon as we were alone, it didn’t take us long to shed our clothes and reunite our bodies. I was like a possessed man when it came to Ember. I just couldn’t get enough. We changed positions every time Ember came, and I still managed to run through all my favorites.

By the time I came, Ember was just about dizzy as she entered a sex coma. She promptly fell asleep against my chest while I turned the television on just to surf through the channels. I could feel her tails wrapped around my leg as she slept, and I was about as happy as I’ve ever been.

A short while later, I noticed that my phone dinged with a new message. Grabbing it from the nightstand, I opened it up to see that I had a new message from Wranglin’Girl777. I opened it.

Megan: Hey pretty boy, whatcha doing?

Me: Hey wranglin’ girl, just watching some tv. You?

I didn’t think it was a good idea to tell her that I had Ember on my chest, at least not yet. I’d learned that it was best to ease into those waters instead of diving in headfirst.

Megan: Oh, just sitting here. Knitting some socks. Don’t make any jokes!

Me: I wouldn’t dream of it. My grandma used to love to do that too.

She sent me a response that was the emoji flashing the middle finger.

Megan: I said no jokes!

Me: It was too good for me to pass up. Sorry.

Megan: You’re lucky you’re cute.

Me: I could say the same thing for you. Aren’t you lonely over there?

I put the phone down for a second to stroke Ember’s tails. It took Megan a few minutes to reply, but when she did, I wasn’t surprised to see the answer.

Megan: I’m used to being alone. It’s not a bad thing.

Me: Not saying it is. It’s just that you have options. You don’t have to be alone.

Megan: It’s hard to trust people.

That was probably the realest thing that I’d heard her say. I knew she had her issues when it came to leaving the Swamp, but I didn’t know how deep they went.

Me: I wish you’d consider coming to spend time with me. I know some great people I’d introduce you to.

I thought that might be pie in the sky, and I didn’t anticipate that she would say yes.

Megan: Okay. When?

Me: Really? Surprised it was that easy.

Megan: If we’re going to do this friends thing, maybe I need to learn how to trust.

Me: That’s a good way to look at it. How about tomorrow? There’s this cool charity breakfast thing that’s going on. It would be really awesome if you came.

Megan: Crowds?

She then sent me an emoji that was vomiting.
